Jakarta (ANTARA) - US President Donald Trump stated that American\nmilitary forces have launched large-scale combat operations in Iran to\ndefend the American people by eliminating direct threats from the\nIranian regime.<\/p>\n
\u201cTheir threatening activities directly endanger the United States,\nour forces, our bases abroad, and our allies throughout the world,\u201d\nTrump said in a video posted to his Truth Social media platform\nmonitored in Jakarta on Saturday (28\/2).<\/p>\n
Earlier on Saturday (28\/2), it was reported that Israel had launched\na preemptive strike against Iran. This represents the second American\nmilitary operation against Iran under Trump, following the first strike\nin June 2025.<\/p>\n
According to Trump, Operation Midnight Hammer in June destroyed\nIran\u2019s nuclear programme at Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan, and warned Iran\nagainst continuing nuclear weapons development.<\/p>\n
Trump claimed that Iran is attempting to rebuild its nuclear\nprogramme and continues developing long-range missiles that could\nthreaten European partners and allies, American forces stationed abroad,\nand asserted that such missiles could reach US territory.<\/p>\n
\u201cFor this reason, the US military has conducted large-scale and\nongoing operations to prevent this extremely evil radical dictatorship\nfrom threatening America and our core national security interests. We\nwill destroy their missiles and devastate their missile industry,\u201d Trump\nsaid.<\/p>\n
\u201cAnd we will ensure that Iran does not acquire nuclear weapons. This\nis a very simple message. They will never have nuclear weapons,\u201d he\nadded.<\/p>\n
On Friday (27\/2), Oman\u2019s Foreign Minister Sayyid Badr Al-Busaidi\nstated that US-Iran nuclear negotiations had reached agreement on a\npolicy preventing enriched uranium stockpiling, with stock reductions to\nthe lowest level and conversion to permanent fuel under full\nverification by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).<\/p>\n
The United States and Iran have conducted three rounds of indirect\nnuclear programme negotiations mediated by Oman.
