United States President Donald Trump has threatened to attack Oman if\nthe country disrupts US-Iran negotiations, while saying Washington has\nestablished direct contacts with Iran\u2019s Islamic Revolutionary Guard\nCorps (IRGC).<\/p>\n
\u201cIf Oman gets in the way, we will bomb them until they are finished,\u201d\nTrump told Fox News on Monday (17\/8), when asked about Oman\u2019s role in\nnegotiations concerning Iran and the Strait of Hormuz.<\/p>\n
The Iranian government said on Saturday that it had reached an\nagreement on shipping routes in the Strait of Hormuz following technical\nnegotiations with Oman over several weeks.<\/p>\n
Trump then said Tehran should raise a \u201cwhite flag of surrender\u201d. He\nsaid Iran is \u201ca good poker player, but they are dying\u201d.<\/p>\n
He also claimed that direct contacts have already been established\nbetween Washington and the IRGC. \u201cWe have a back channel with the IRGC.\nWe speak directly with IRGC officials in Iran,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, regarding the situation in Gaza, Trump said Israel must\nstop attacking Gaza because \u201cHamas has agreed to lay down their\nweapons\u201d. He also said the US has a separate communication channel with\nHamas. \u201cWe have a different channel with Hamas, and in the end they will\nhand over their weapons,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
The statement was made amid Washington\u2019s efforts to ensure the\nimplementation of the Gaza peace plan, which includes the disarmament of\nHamas and the full withdrawal of Israeli forces from the Palestinian\nterritory.<\/p>\n
Trump also expressed his views on Israeli politics, saying the \u201cmost\nappropriate\u201d step at present is not to interfere in the country\u2019s\nelections.
