        "content": "<p>Washington (ANTARA) - US President Donald Trump on Friday (24\/7)\nthreatened the European Union with heavy tariffs and an investigation\nfollowing the new fine imposed by the bloc on the American technology\ngiant Google.<\/p>\n<p>On Thursday (23\/7), the European Commission imposed a fine of \u20ac890\nmillion (around Rp18.2 trillion) on Google for allegedly violating the\nEU\u2019s Digital Markets Act (DMA), accusing the company of promoting its\nown services in search results and restricting app developers on Google\nPlay.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHopefully this TRUTH will be proof that we will soon begin a Section\n301 Investigation of the \u2018shakedown\u2019 practices against American\ncompanies and, in turn, against American taxpayers. The European Union\nwill pay a very heavy price for this illegal and highly unethical\nbehaviour, which I have repeatedly warned them about,\u201d Trump wrote on\nTruth Social.<\/p>\n<p>The new fine brings the total antitrust penalties imposed on Google\nby the European Union to more than US$18 billion (around Rp322.5\ntrillion).<\/p>\n<p>Trump condemned the move as \u201cillegal and highly discriminatory\npractice\u201d that began during the administration of Joe Biden.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHowever, it will not continue during the Trump administration.
