US President Donald Trump has reportedly provided a swift response\nfollowing reports of Iran attacking Israel. Trump is said to have called\nIsraeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to urge him not to retaliates\nagainst the Iranian missile strikes.<\/p>\n
\u201cI will call Bibi now and tell him not to retaliate,\u201d Trump said, as\nquoted by Axios journalist Barak Ravid in a telephone interview, using\nthe Israeli leader\u2019s nickname, as reported by AFP on Monday\n(8\/6\/2026).<\/p>\n
\u201cEach of them is having their fun. Israel carried out its attack and\nIran also carried out its attack. We do not need any more attacks,\u201d he\nexplained, as posted by Ravid on X.<\/p>\n
Sunday\u2019s missile attack was the first carried out by Iran against\nIsrael since a ceasefire was implemented in April during the Middle East\nwar. Trump voiced concerns that the incident could hinder ongoing\nnegotiations.<\/p>\n
\u201cIran\u2019s attack did not hurt anyone. Hopefully, Israel will not\nretaliate. If Bibi strikes back, then this will continue to happen like\nthe last 47 years, or the last 3,000 years,\u201d the US President\nstated.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe are very close to a final deal with Iran. It will be a good deal.\nI do not want that deal to explode because of what is happening right\nnow,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n
The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) described Sunday\u2019s\nattack as a \u201cwarning\u201d after Israel struck the southern outskirts of\nBeirut, Lebanon, the previous day, threatening wider attacks if\naggression continues.<\/p>\n
The ceasefire on 8 April had halted major hostilities between Iran,\nIsrael, and the United States. However, efforts to transition the\nceasefire into a permanent resolution have repeatedly stalled, and\nSunday\u2019s launch is certain to diminish hopes for lasting peace as the\nconflict reaches its 100th day.<\/p>\n
In a separate interview with Fox News, Trump stated that the Iranian\nattack would not assist negotiations, which are \u201cvery close\u201d to reaching\nan agreement. He urged Iran to \u201creturn to the negotiating table and make\na deal.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cWe are already very close. I believe the agreement will be signed on\nMonday, Tuesday, or Wednesday of next week. And now this happens,\u201d he\nsaid.<\/p>\n
Trump also criticised Israel\u2019s strike in Beirut on Sunday, stating he\nwas \u201cnot happy with it.\u201d The White House did not immediately respond to\nrequests for comment from AFP.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, in the latest updates, Iranian state television reported\non attacks occurring within the country. It was reported that explosions\noccurred in three cities on Monday morning.<\/p>\n
