Trump Media & Technology Group, the parent company of Donald Trump's Truth Social platform, recorded a substantial loss of nearly $406 million (approximately Rp 7.05 trillion) in the first quarter of 2026, primarily due to declines in its digital asset investments, including Bitcoin, which has since dropped by about a third. Despite a modest 6% year-on-year increase in net sales to just over $870,000, the company faces additional burdens from accrued interest and stock-based compensation. CEO Kevin McGurn emphasised the firm's strong balance sheet and positive operational cash flow to support platform development, while pursuing a merger with TAE Technologies for AI data centres powered by nuclear fusion, though the technology remains unviable for net energy production.",

The platform was created after Trump was banned from Twitter
(now X) and Facebook in 2021 following the storming of the US Capitol by
his supporters after his first term ended in defeat to Joe Biden.

Although it effectively serves as a communication mouthpiece for
Trump, Truth Social is considered not to have developed significantly in
business terms.

The merger is aimed at supporting the development of artificial
intelligence (AI) data centres through energy supply from nuclear fusion
technology.

However, to date, nuclear fusion technology has not yet been able to
produce more energy than the energy required for its production
process.

McGurn said the company remains committed to accelerating the merger
with TAE Technologies while seeking new growth opportunities and ways to
enhance value for shareholders.
",
