        "content": "<p>Washington (ANTARA) - US President Donald Trump is \u201cannoyed\u201d by\nIsraeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu\u2019s public criticism of the\nplanned sale of American F-35 fighter jets to T\u00fcrkiye, according to a\nreport by the news site Axios on Thursday (16\/7).<\/p>\n<p>Citing two White House officials, the outlet said no meeting had been\nscheduled despite reports in the Israeli media that Trump would host\nNetanyahu on Monday.<\/p>\n<p>One official was quoted as saying Trump was angry over Netanyahu\u2019s\nremarks in an interview with Fox News, shortly before the US president\ntravelled to Ankara for the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO)\nSummit on 7-8 July.<\/p>\n<p>A second official said Trump believes Netanyahu \u201chas no right\u201d to\ninterfere in the planned arms sale.<\/p>\n<p>The Israeli leader has reportedly sought a meeting with Trump for\nmore than two weeks. He has visited the Oval Office six times since\nTrump returned to office in January 2025.<\/p>\n<p>Reports in the Israeli media suggested Netanyahu planned to travel to\nWashington this weekend to attend the funeral of the late Senator\nLindsey Graham and meet Trump on Monday.<\/p>\n<p>The trip was cancelled on Thursday after Graham\u2019s funeral ceremony\nwas postponed, Netanyahu\u2019s office said in a statement.<\/p>\n<p>Two White House officials were reported as saying Netanyahu wants to\nmeet Trump, but no meeting has been confirmed or added to the\npresident\u2019s schedule.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur impression is that Bibi (Netanyahu\u2019s nickname) is trying to make\nthat meeting happen,\u201d one official told Axios.<\/p>\n<p>Axios said the White House officials did not rule out a meeting when\nNetanyahu eventually travels to Washington for Graham\u2019s memorial\nceremony.<\/p>\n<p>The postponement comes amid rising tensions between the Trump\nadministration and the Netanyahu government over the war with Iran.<\/p>\n<p>The report emerged after US Vice President JD Vance said on Wednesday\n(15\/7) that members of the Israeli government were seeking to undermine\nWashington\u2019s diplomatic efforts with Tehran in an attempt to prolong the\nmilitary campaign.<\/p>",
