However, Trump also stated that the policy of\nblockading Iranian ports will continue to be implemented by the US\nmilitary.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI have directed our military to continue the blockade and, in all\nother respects, remain ready and capable,\u201d Trump said, as quoted by Al\nJazeera on Wednesday (22\/4\/2026).<\/p>\n<p>The initial US-Iran ceasefire was implemented on 7 April and was due\nto end today before being extended by Trump. Trump stated that this\nextension of the ceasefire has no time limit.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTherefore, it will extend the ceasefire until their proposals are\nsubmitted and discussions are resolved one way or another,\u201d Trump\nexplained.<\/p>\n<p>Trump also alluded to the current Iranian government being deeply\ndivided.
