US President Donald Trump has stated that the United States may soon\nattack Mount Pickaxe in Iran. Mount Pickaxe, located near the Natanz\nuranium enrichment facility\u2014which was heavily damaged by previous US\nstrikes\u2014contains two underground tunnel complexes. The mountain is\nrumoured to be a secret location for Iran\u2019s nuclear storage, though the\nIranian government has denied any nuclear-related activity at the\nsite.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe may attack Pickaxe soon. The US knows everyone moving in Pickage\nand throughout Iran,\u201d Trump said, as reported by Anadolu Agency on\nSaturday.<\/p>\n
Trump also described the conflict with Iran as a \u201csmall problem\u201d for\nthe United States. He made these remarks on Friday, a day after Vice\nPresident JD Vance stated he would not refer to the conflict as a\nwar.<\/p>\n
\u201cMany people do not call it a war. I call it a military conflict\nbecause it is a small problem for us. It is not a big deal. We have\ndealt with Venezuela, and we have dealt with this,\u201d Trump told reporters\nwhen asked about Vance\u2019s comments, according to AFP.<\/p>\n
The US conflict with Iran, which has lasted for six months, has\nresulted in the deaths of 18 US soldiers and thousands of Iranians.\nNegotiations to end the war have reached a deadlock, while Tehran\ncontinues to disrupt shipping traffic in the Strait of Hormuz, a vital\nglobal waterway.<\/p>\n
However, with rising fuel prices potentially causing the Republican\nParty to lose control of the US Congress in the upcoming November\nmidterms, his administration is attempting to minimise the perceived\nimpact of the conflict.<\/p>\n
Trump stated that the US is conducting \u201cperiodic strikes,\u201d but\ninsisted that \u201cwe are not at war right now.\u201d<\/p>\n
He reiterated claims that the United States effectively controls the\nStrait of Hormuz and has destroyed Iran\u2019s military capabilities.<\/p>\n
