        "content": "<p>Trees at TMII<\/p>\n<p>From Media Indonesia<\/p>\n<p>The trees planted by the representatives of Non-aligned<br>\ncountries at TMII (Beautiful Indonesia in Miniature Park) will be<br>\ntwo years old on Sept. 1, 1994. When I visited the Friendship<br>\nPark of the Non-aligned countries I was very pleased to see most<br>\nof the trees have thrived. Representing Indonesia, on Sept. 1,<br>\n1992 President Soeharto planted a royal banyan tree. The white<br>\nbanyan was planted by Malaysian representative, green banyan<br>\n(Brunei Darussalam), sengon (Congo), pete (Nigeria), buni<br>\n(Nepal), sawo duren (Santa Lucia) and many others.<\/p>\n<p>Some of the trees have even produced fruit such as maja hijau<br>\n(Gabon), jambu mente (Oman). Other trees are in blossoms and look<br>\nvery nice.<\/p>\n<p>However, I found that some of the original trees died and have<br>\nbeen replaced with new ones and are still small in size. What is<br>\nsaddening is that some name boards of the trees have disappeared<br>\nso that we could not recognize the countries that planted the<br>\ntrees. Representatives of certain Non-aligned countries may visit<br>\nIndonesia some day and want to have a look at the trees that were<br>\nplanted by their representatives. They will be disappointed if<br>\nthey cannot find the names of their countries.
