The Traffic Unit (Satlantas) of Tangerang Police has enhanced
security on the Tangerang-Serang arterial route ahead of the peak
Lebaran exodus in 2026, given numerous sections of road damage along
Jalan Raya Serang in Tangerang Regency, Banten.

Monitoring by CNN Indonesia along Jalan Raya Serang from Curug
District through to Cikupa in Tangerang Regency, Banten, revealed
potholes visible at several locations. Beyond the potholes in the road
surface, flaking asphalt layers have also caused loose gravel to
scatter, rendering the road surface slippery and potentially dangerous
for road users.

Head of the Traffic Unit’s Turjawali Section at Tangerang Police,
Asep Dedi Budiman, stated that road damage occurs at multiple locations,
including kilometres 22 to 25 and kilometres 30 to 35 along Jalan Raya
Serang. “Road damage and potholes along Jalan Raya Serang occur in areas
including Bitung, Cikupa, Cibadak, Balaraja, Gembong and extending to
Jayanti,” Asep explained on Sunday, 15 March.

According to Asep, the condition of damage to this national road is
quite severe, with large and deep potholes present. These conditions
endanger road users, particularly travellers heading towards Merak Port.
“We have already sent notifications to regional government to be
forwarded to the central government to promptly repair the road or
exodus routes within Tangerang Police’s jurisdiction,” Asep said.

Additionally, Asep noted that his team will also install warning
signs at several accident-prone locations or black spots. “We have made
efforts to provide warning directional signs through banners and alerts
to road users,” he explained.

For this reason, he urged travellers using Jalan Raya Serang to be
vigilant about sections of damaged road and to comply with traffic
signs. “Of course, prioritise safety, compliance with traffic signs,
follow officer directions and maintain traffic etiquette. God willing,
your journey home will be safe, comfortable and joyful,” he urged.
",
