BANDUNG (JP): A list of information on southern Bandung's
\nholiday spots may be necessary for first-time visitors to these
\ndestinations.<\/p>\n
* Public Transportation Services<\/p>\n
- From Bandung:<\/p>\n
A number of buses and minibuses ply the routes between Bandung-
\nCiwidey-Situ Patengan. If you start from Bandung, you have to
\ngo to the Kebon Kelapa Bus Terminal. Take the Bandung to
\nCiwidey station bus. The fare is between Rp 1,000 and Rp 2,500.
\nMany mini buses also serve the route, but these small cars are
\nusually parked outside the bus station. Taxis are also
\navailable, but you have to be careful as most taxi drivers may
\nrefuse to use the meter, especially for passengers en route to
\nholiday sites.<\/p>\n
- From Ciwidey:<\/p>\n
When you arrive at the Ciwidey bus station, mini buses are
\nready to take you to the holiday spots. Mini buses only serve
\nthe Ciwidey-Situ Patengan route. However they pass a number of
\nholiday sites such as the Kawah Putih crater, Cimanggu hot
\nsprings, Ranca Upas Forest Recreation and Camping Ground and
\nRanca Bali tea plantation. Only a few buses ply these routes
\nbecause the roads are narrow and pass through mountainous
\nareas. The average fare is Rp 1,000 and Rp 1,500, but sometimes
\ndrivers charge their passengers, foreigners in particular,
\na higher fare up to Rp 5,000 per person.<\/p>\n
* Accommodation Services<\/p>\n
Travelers wanting to spend the entire weekend at the holiday
\nsites can choose a number of nonrated hotels, motels, and
\nvillas:<\/p>\n
- Sindang Reret on Jl. Raya Ciwidey, Bandung Phone: (0029)58204-58204
\nRoom rates range from Rp 40,000 ($20) to Rp 100,000
\n($50) a night, including breakfast.<\/p>\n
- Sukarasa Tunggal Endah on Jl. Barutunggal-Ciwidey Phone: (0229)610601<\/p>\n
- Villa Patengan, Villa Pranatirta and Villa Kindang Kencana are
\nall located in the Rancabali tea plantation. The rates for
\nrenting the villas are set at Rp 50,000 ($25) to Rp 100,000
\n($50) a day. The villas are equipped with water heater, metric
\nsystem, and kitchen set.<\/p>\n
* Travel Agencies<\/p>\n
There are also special package tours to southern Bandung's
\nrecreational sites available at travel agencies. They usually
\narrange special group tours to the sites.<\/p>\n
They charge $40 per person. A group consists of at least 10
\npersons.<\/p>\n
