The Solo City\nGovernment, working alongside the United Nations Development Programme\n(UNDP) and Clean Rivers, has launched the \u2018Sungai Lestari\u2019 (Sustainable\nRiver) programme. Under this scheme, waste collected from the upstream\nareas of Solo\u2019s rivers will be directly sorted and processed by local\npartners. This initiative aims to create cleaner rivers while\nsimultaneously reducing the waste load at the Putri Cempo landfill.<\/p>\n<p>Waste trapped by the floating nets will be sorted and processed by\nlocal partners to ensure it has utility value, thereby reducing the\nvolume of waste ending up in the landfill.
