Jakarta (ANTARA) \u2013 Minister of Transportation, Dudy Purwagandhi, has\nassured that the economic stimulus policies implemented during the\nLebaran travel period will not harm airlines.<\/p>\n
He emphasised that the various incentives provided are government\npolicies and not a burden that airlines have to bear.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe important thing is that this policy is a government policy. We\nare not disrupting airlines,\u201d Dudy said in Jakarta on Tuesday.<\/p>\n
Dudy explained that the government has designed a scheme that will\nnot disrupt the sustainability of the aviation business.<\/p>\n
The stimulus provided to airlines includes tax relief and adjustments\nto several operational cost components, such as airport services and\naviation fuel (avtur).<\/p>\n
With this scheme, the cost burden is not placed on airlines but is\nsupported through fiscal policies and government support.<\/p>\n
This measure is taken to maintain a balance between the interests of\nthe public, who need affordable tickets during the Lebaran homecoming\nperiod, and the sustainability of the national aviation industry.<\/p>\n
\u201cSo, the government is providing tax relief, as well as covering\ncosts for handling at the airport and avtur. All of this is stimulus\nprovided by the government, not by the airlines,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n
The government is preparing a 100 per cent Value Added Tax (VAT)\nstimulus for the purchase of plane tickets during the 2026 Lebaran\nhomecoming period.<\/p>\n
Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs, Airlangga Hartarto,\nexplained that the size of the stimulus will be larger than the stimulus\nprovided during Christmas 2025 and New Year 2026, when the government\nonly covered 6 per cent of the VAT, with the remainder paid by\nconsumers.<\/p>\n
Currently, the government is still drafting the stimulus regulations\nthrough a Minister of Finance Regulation (PMK). Airlangga said the\nregulation is targeted to be completed on Monday (9 February).<\/p>\n
In addition to plane tickets, the government is also preparing\nvarious discount programmes for transportation tickets and toll road\ntariffs to support public mobility during the Ramadan holiday and Eid\nal-Fitr 1447 H period.<\/p>\n
This policy includes discounts on plane, train, sea, and land\ntransportation tickets, as well as toll road tariffs.<\/p>\n
