The Ministry of Transmigration is providing opportunities for
Indonesia’s young generation to be directly involved in national
development through the 2026 Patriot Expedition Team (TEP), part of the
Patriot Transmigration Programme. Ministry Spokesperson Eva Julianti
Yunizar stated that many young people wish to contribute to society but
have not yet found the right platform. “It is time for the younger
generation to not just be spectators in Indonesia’s development. Through
the Patriot Expedition Team, they can be directly involved in bringing
knowledge, technology, and innovation to help develop regional
potential,” Eva said in an official statement received in Jakarta on
Thursday. She noted that youth involvement is needed to accelerate
regional transformation and progress, especially in areas with the
potential to become new economic growth centres. The ministry is
organising the Patriot Transmigration Programme to provide opportunities
for young people from various educational backgrounds to participate in
developing transmigration areas, in accordance with Law Number 29 of
2009 concerning Amendments to Law Number 15 of 1997 on Transmigration.
The programme facilitates young Indonesians in mapping regional
potential, identifying development challenges, and formulating ideas
that can support economic development and improve community welfare.
“Development is not only about physical construction, but also about
opening business opportunities, creating jobs, and bringing new hope to
the community. This is where the role of the younger generation is
crucial,” Eva said. The Ministry of Transmigration affirmed its
commitment to transparency in the recruitment process for the 2026
Patriot Expedition Team. As of 2 June 2026 at 22.00 WIB, applicants
could directly access the recruitment results through the page
tep.transmigrasi.go.id/status. A total of 246 team leaders and 1,230
team members were declared successful out of 10,359 applicants from
various universities at home and abroad, including the University of
Melbourne, the University of Glasgow, and King’s College London.
",
