PT TransJakarta (Transjakarta) has finally spoken out regarding a
viral video showing a heated exchange between a bus pramudi of Corridor
8 and an electric car driver in the Kelapa Dua Sasak area, Jalan
Panjang, West Jakarta. The incident occurred on Wednesday (4 March 2026)
and sparked uproar on social media due to divergent narratives.

Ayu Wardhani, Head of CSR and Public Relations at Transjakarta,
confirmed that the person in the video was a pramudi from a Transjakarta
partner operator. ‘Yes, we confirm that it is a pramudi operator BMP
240369, route for Corridor 8 (Lebak Bulus - Pasar Baru),’ she said when
contacted in Jakarta on Thursday (5 March 2026).

Based on early investigations, Ayu dispelled netizens’ speculation
that a collision had occurred. The confrontation was actually triggered
by a private vehicle entering the busway, which automatically endangers
the operation of the public transport system.

‘From the initial checks we obtained, the incident began when the
private vehicle entered the busway. The pramudi manoeuvred to avoid a
collision, then stopped the bus to communicate with the driver,’ Ayu
explained.

She added that when the argument occurred, the electric car had
actually returned to its regular lane, but the tension between the two
drivers had already escalated.

Although the root cause was a traffic violation by the private
driver, Transjakarta out rightly did not endorse the emotional behaviour
shown by its staff.

‘We do not condone the pramudi’s conduct in the quarrel and lack of
courtesy. All pramudi must maintain professionalism and road etiquette
in any circumstances,’ Ayu asserted.

Currently, Transjakarta is conducting a thorough investigation and
providing internal coaching. Management has assured there will be
sanctions if there is evidence of violations of the Standard Operating
Procedure (SOP) in handling the conflict on the ground.

Earlier, footage from the Instagram account @warga.jakbar showed a tense moment as
a uniformed pramudi approached a motorist next to the separator. In the
footage, the pramudi was seen delivering a sharp rebuke in a raised
voice. The tension peaked when the pramudi put his hand into the car
cabin as the window was opened, before the car driver drove away from
the scene.

The incident serves as a reminder to Jakarta residents of the strict
rules on sterilisation of bus lanes, as well as the challenge of
controlling public servants’ emotions amidst the capital’s traffic.

Are busway lanes allowed to be traversed by electric cars? Under
the Jakarta DKI Transportation Agency rules, the busway lanes remain
exclusive to Transjakarta buses and emergency vehicles (Ambulances/Fire
Department), even though electric cars may have other incentives such as
exemptions from the odd-even rule.

What are the sanctions for private cars entering busway lanes?
Under Law No. 22 of 2009 on LLAJ, violators of the busway can face a
maximum fine of Rp500,000 via electronic ticketing (ETLE) or
conventional tickets.

How to report Transjakarta staff who are impolite? The public can
report via the TIJE Care official channel on social media or by calling
the 1500-102 call centre, including the bus body code or the time of the
incident.

Via the official X (Twitter) account of TMC Polda Metro Jaya, the
service is located in East Jakarta and West Jakarta.

Copyright @ 2026 Media Group - mediaindonesia.
