        "content": "<p>TransAsia serves Surabaya<\/p>\n<p>TAIPEI (AFP): Taiwan&apos;s privately-run TransAsia Airways<br>\nyesterday launched a commercial route between Taipei and<br>\nSurabaya, Indonesia, a company official said.<\/p>\n<p>A 162-seat Airbus A320 passenger jet will serve the route<br>\nthree times a week, leaving Taipei&apos;s international airport on<br>\nTuesday, Thursday and Saturday and returning the same days, the<br>\nofficial said.<\/p>\n<p>A total of 129 passengers and 14 crew were on board the<br>\ninaugural flight, he added.<\/p>\n<p>The opening of direct air link to Surabaya was prompted by an<br>\nincreasing number of local travelers to Indonesia, he said,<br>\nadding that more than 150, 000 Taiwanese visited the Southeast<br>\nAsian country last year.<\/p>\n<p>TransAsia is the fourth Taiwan airline company which serves<br>\ninternational routes, following the steps of China Airlines, Eva<br>\nAirways Corp., and Mandarin Airlines.<\/p>",
