I had a bad experience when shopping at the so-called highly
\nprestigious Carrefour hypermarket in Jl Hayam Wuruk, Central
\nJakarta.<\/p>\n
On March 5, 2001, I bought some goods and paid for them with
\nmy BCA card. At the cashier's counter, the card was processed for
\napproval and I was then asked to put in my PIN. After the
\napproval was processed, however, I was told that the transaction
\nwas rejected and that I had to pay cash. I complied with this
\nrequest.<\/p>\n
Unfortunately, when I told the cashier that my account had
\nbeen debited, she insisted that it had not.<\/p>\n
As I did not want to have a debate with the cashier, I
\ncontacted, that very night, Hallo BCA and got an answer from the
\ncustomer service officer that our savings account had been
\ndebited with the amount of money for the above-mentioned
\npurchase.<\/p>\n
I returned to "Carrefour" and told the cashier what I had
\nheard from Hallo BCA. She still insisted that she was right and
\nasked me to return with a print-out of the transaction.<\/p>\n
Three days later I returned to this hypermarket with the
\nprint-out requested and only then did the management agree to
\nreimburse me with the amount already debited.<\/p>\n
What I regret very much is that a lot of time was wasted to
\nsettle this failed transaction.<\/p>\n
