PT Jasa Marga, in collaboration with the Ministry of Transportation and the Indonesian National Police Traffic Corps, reported that the return traffic following the 2026 Eid al-Fitr holiday has been managed effectively, with 2.9 million vehicles entering Jakarta by Sunday evening, reaching 86% of projections. Traffic volume-to-capacity (VC) ratios on key Trans-Java toll roads remained low and controlled, such as 0.3 on Batang-Semarang and 0.22 on Cipali, allowing for the termination of one-way schemes and contraflow measures. This coordinated effort highlights the success of inter-agency cooperation in ensuring smooth post-holiday mobility, underscoring Indonesia's infrastructure management capabilities during peak travel periods.

JAKARTA - PT Jasa Marga (Persero) Tbk, together with the Ministry of
Transportation of the Republic of Indonesia and the Indonesian National
Police Traffic Corps (Korlantas Polri), stated that the services for the
Eid al-Fitr holiday outbound and return flows in 2026 have generally
proceeded in a controlled manner. The increase in traffic volume during
that period was deemed manageable through intensive collaboration among
stakeholders. Jasa Marga President Director Rivan A. Purwantono stated
that as of Sunday (29/03/2026) at 22:00 WIB, 2.9 million vehicles had
entered Jakarta. That number equates to 86 percent of the total
projected vehicles returning to the capital. “The average volume per
capacity ratio (VC Ratio) on several main Trans-Java toll road sections
was monitored in a controlled condition,” said Rivan, quoted from an
official statement on Monday (30/03/2026). The VC Ratio on the
Batang-Semarang Toll Road was recorded at 0.3, Palikanci Toll Road at
0.28, Cipali Toll Road at 0.22, and Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road at 0.36.
“Based on those parameters, the return traffic flow has been observed to
ease from KM 414 Kalikangkung Toll Gate to KM 70 Jakarta-Cikampek Toll
Road towards Jakarta,” Rivan stated. Head of Korlantas Polri Agus
Suryonugroho stated that several traffic engineering measures, such as
contraflow and precise local one-way schemes, were temporarily
implemented to anticipate vehicle surges during the return flow. “We
have carried out sterilisation and socialisation to the public that the
implementation of one-way will officially end in the early hours of this
Sunday (29/03/2026) at 24:00 WIB, in accordance with the joint
decision,” said the Korlantas Head. Meanwhile, Minister of
Transportation Dudy Purwagandhi stated that with the increasingly
controlled traffic conditions, the one-way policy has been officially
discontinued, and vehicle flow has returned to normal. “The
implementation of the precise local one-way at 24:00 WIB we declare
complete. To the public still travelling, we urge caution and to always
follow directions and instructions from on-site officers, as journeys
continue and traffic is now operating normally,” Dudy said. Jasa Marga
also expressed appreciation for the collaboration of all stakeholders in
managing traffic during the 2026 Eid al-Fitr holiday, including the
Ministry of Transportation, Korlantas Polri, and field operational
officers.
",
