Training course starts today<\/p>\n
JAKARTA (JP): The Indonesia-Australia Technical and Vocational
\nEducation Project will hold a four-day training course on quality
\nmanagement in Sawangan, Bogor, starting today.<\/p>\n
John T. Boveington, the Australian team leader for the
\nproject, said that the training program, to be held at the
\nJakarta Vocational Education Development Center, will be attended
\nby 50 personnel from technical and vocational education centers
\nand schools. Most are from the eastern part of Indonesia.<\/p>\n
Some of the participants of the program are representatives of
\na number of Indonesian companies, including Coca Cola, Sheraton
\nResort, Garuda Indonesia, the state-electricity company PLN and
\nPT Labtech Penta.<\/p>\n
Boveington explained that the program is aimed at training
\ntechnical and vocational education staff to enable them to
\nimplement quality management in technical and vocational schools
\nin 1995.<\/p>\n
\"This work is in line with the Ministry of Education and
\nCulture's dual system initiative for linking technical and
\nvocational schools with the industry,\" he said.<\/p>\n
The new course will be presented by six Indonesian staff, who
\nhave returned to Indonesia after four months of intensive
\ntraining on ISO 9000 at the University of South Australia in
