        "content": "<p>Training course on hotel taxation<\/p>\n<p>JAKARTA (JP): The municipality will hold a taxation training<br>\ncourse for hotel and restaurant businesspeople today in a bid to<br>\ndisseminate information on Regional Regulation No. 5\/1996 on<br>\ndevelopment income.<\/p>\n<p>Head of City Revenue Agency Wahab Rachmatsjah said in a<br>\nstatement on Monday that the course would be held at Jl.<br>\nFachrudin No. 3, Central Jakarta.<\/p>\n<p>\"The training course will be held to inform hotel and<br>\nrestaurant owners that there is an article in the regulation<br>\nregarding a self-payment system,\" he said.<\/p>\n<p>Based on the system, hotel and restaurant owners were<br>\nauthorized to do their own calculations and give their owed taxes<br>\nto the City Cash Office, he said.<\/p>\n<p>However, businesspeople were required to make detailed records<br>\nof their sales, Wahab said.<\/p>\n<p>Businesspeople whose gross incomes were below Rp 120 million<br>\n(US$49,180) a year were not subject to the bookkeeping<br>\nrequirement, he said.
