Train passengers electrocuted<\/p>\n
JAKARTA (JP): Two teenagers died in separate incidents on
\nrailways in South and East Jakarta yesterday. Both youths fell
\nonto the track after suffering an electric shock, bringing the
\ndeath toll from such incidents to three this year.<\/p>\n
The victims were identified as Rudi Sarwono, 12, of Gg.
\nPelangi, Kalibata in South Jakarta and Aris Afrianto, 16, of
\nPerum I, Kayuringin in Bekasi.<\/p>\n
The first incident happened about 1 p.m. in South Jakarta. The
\nsecond was at approximately 2 p.m. in East Jakarta.<\/p>\n
Bambang H.P., a forensic expert at the Cipto Mangunkusumo
\nGeneral Hospital, quoted police as saying Rudi, who was sitting
\non the train roof to escape an overcrowded car, \"was electrocuted
\nas he inadvertently touched the electric train's wire\".<\/p>\n
Aris, the second victim, was electrocuted prior to boarding
\nthe train. He fell onto the track after touching an electrified
\nfence at Cakung station and was hit by a speeding train, Bambang
\nsaid.<\/p>\n
Both victims suffered severe head wounds.<\/p>\n
Rudi's body has been claimed by his family and was buried in
\nMenteng Pulo public cemetery yesterday. Aris' body remains in the
\nhospital morgue.<\/p>\n
Another passenger, Suryadi, fell to his death after being
\nelectrocuted on a train in Depok last month. (emf)<\/p>",
