Public Relations Manager Anwar Yuli Prastyo of PT KAI Divre I\nSumut said evacuation was carried out promptly to restore a safe railway\ncorridor. They also addressed the crossing to prevent a recurrence. \u2018The\nengine driver is safe, but the locomotive sustained some material\ndamage. After emergency handling, the Petikemas train could continue its\njourney at 08:45 WIB,\u2019 he said. The driver\/minibus was taken to\nBhayangkara Tebing Tinggi Hospital for intensive medical care. \u2018KAI\nDivre I Sumatra Utara expresses deep condolences to the victims and\nfamilies; incidents like this are not desired,\u2019 he added. The incident\nimpacted two trains with a total delay of about 19 minutes, as the\nPetikemas train had to halt for 14 minutes to check the rolling stock\u2019s\neligibility. \u2018Meanwhile, the Putri Deli service from Medan to Tanjung\nBalai paused at Bamban for 5 minutes to ensure the line was safe and\nready,\u2019 he explained. KAI Divre I Sumut urged all residents and road\nusers to remain vigilant at level crossings.
