\nbecome the order of the day. The traffic problem is very complex.
\nBesides inadequate roads to support the large number of vehicles,
\nvarious other factors like behavior and discipline of road users,
\nstreet vendors and pedestrians, as well as traffic lights, are
\nalso attributable to the traffic problem.<\/p>\n
Sociologists and psychologists suggest that traffic requires
\npatience, tolerance and cooperation. Egoistic attitudes and
\ninsensitivity, on the other hand, are among the major causes of
\ntraffic disorder.<\/p>\n
In developed countries traffic management and training for
\ndrivers are given greater consideration. Traffic ethics are
\nintroduced while still at schools, and socialization of traffic
\nregulations are done earlier. We have to do the same thing, as
\nfar as traffic problems are concerned.<\/p>\n
Traffic congestion is costly because it causes a great loss of
\nenergy. The loss caused by traffic congestion in Jakarta is
\nestimated at one billion rupiah per hour in terms of money,
\nenvironment destruction and pollution. Pollution, in turn, has a
\nbad impact on the lungs, causes stress and headaches. Time
\nwastage, delayed work also constitute immaterial loss.<\/p>\n
