Traders to get new kiosks<\/p>\n
JAKARTA (JP): Traders whose kiosks were ravaged by fire in
\nKebon Kembang market in Bogor, east of here, last month, will
\nreceive lottery numbers for temporary kiosks on Monday.<\/p>\n
Bogor Mayor Eddy Gunardi will preside over the handing over of
\nlottery numbers for traders' kiosks, Antara reported.<\/p>\n
Lottery numbers for the allocations will also depend on the
\ntypes of goods sold.<\/p>\n
A fire ravaged the three-story Kebon Kembang market in Bogor,
\nWest Java on March 28, destroying the kiosks of more than 1,000
\ntraders. Ten people were reported killed in the inferno.<\/p>\n
Eddy, who visited the market yesterday, said that government
\nofficials caught levying money from traders attempting to secure
\ntheir kiosks will be reprimanded.<\/p>\n
"These kiosks were built and are to be given to traders free
\nof any charges," Eddy said.<\/p>\n
Traders earlier rejected the government's involvement in the
\ntotal renovation of the gutted market for fear of being evicted
\nwhen new kiosks were built and being unable to afford the high
\nprices.<\/p>\n
They said that, instead, they would prefer to rebuild their
\nown kiosks.<\/p>\n
Usman Zakaria, an assistant to the Bogor mayor in charge of
\nbuilding the temporary kiosks, said that 2,131 temporary kiosks
\nare ready to be used.<\/p>\n
Each kiosk, made of wood, has a floor surface of two square
