        "content": "<p>Jakarta (ANTARA) - Trade Minister Budi Santoso stated that the\ngovernment is continuously pushing for an increase in national exports\namid the weakening of the rupiah\u2019s exchange rate against the US\ndollar.<\/p>\n<p>Budi said that Indonesia\u2019s export performance is still showing a\npositive trend throughout the early part of the year.<\/p>\n<p>Up to March 2026, national exports were recorded to have grown by\naround 0.39 per cent cumulatively compared to the same period in the\nprevious year.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe continue to push so that the growth does not become even smaller\nlater. That\u2019s why one of the ways we are doing this is by encouraging\nour friends to keep increasing exports. Hopefully, April will continue\nto rise,\u201d Budi said during the \u201cNgobrol Produk Indonesia (Ngopi) UMKM\u201d\nevent in Jakarta on Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p>According to him, the rupiah\u2019s weakening does not necessarily become\nan obstacle for the foreign trade sector.<\/p>\n<p>The government is instead utilising this momentum to strengthen the\ncompetitiveness of Indonesian products in the global market.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhatever the conditions, we must keep finding ways out so that our\nexports continue to run, even keep increasing,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>He added that the Ministry of Trade, together with business actors,\ncontinues to take various steps to maintain export growth so that it\ndoes not slow down.<\/p>\n<p>One of them is by encouraging exporters to expand destination markets\nand increase shipment volumes.<\/p>\n<p>The Trade Minister said that the export realisation for the\nJanuary-March 2026 period still shows good performance with growth\napproaching 1 per cent.<\/p>\n<p>This achievement is considered positive given the global economic\nsituation that is still filled with uncertainties, including conflict\ndynamics and international trade pressures.<\/p>\n<p>The government is also optimistic that the export sector will remain\nthe main pillar of national economic growth, while maintaining the\nstability of Indonesia\u2019s trade balance amid rupiah exchange rate\nfluctuations and global economic challenges.<\/p>\n<p>In March 2026, Indonesia\u2019s export performance was recorded at $22.53\nbillion or grew 1.62 per cent compared to February 2026, but contracted\n3.10 per cent year-on-year.<\/p>\n<p>The monthly export increase was driven by a 18.60 per cent surge in\noil and gas exports, while non-oil and gas exports grew limitedly by\n0.75 per cent.<\/p>",
