The Ministry of\nTrade has sent letters to Horeca operators and modern retailers to\nincrease their uptake of domestically produced eggs and chicken meat.\n\u201cWe have sent letters to Horeca to absorb eggs and chicken, and also to\nAprindo and retailers,\u201d Budi stated in Jakarta on Monday. He explained\nthat increased absorption by the Horeca and modern retail sectors is\nexpected to help maintain price stability at the producer level while\nstrengthening the national food distribution chain. According to Budi,\nproducers need these sectors as market channels to sell their goods.\n\u201cBecause we need the market and distribution channels, we need places to\nsell. For example, restaurants might add eggs or chicken to their\nmenus,\u201d he clarified. On a broader scale, the government is also\npreparing an economic stimulus package for the second half of 2026,\ncovering fiscal, food, and transport sectors. This policy is expected to\nhelp control inflation and encourage public consumption. The government\nis also striving to maintain purchasing power through various shopping\npromotion programmes.
