        "content": "<p>Jakarta (ANTARA) - Trade Minister Budi Santoso has assured that\nimports of the primary plastic pellet raw material, nafta, will arrive\nin mid-May 2026.<\/p>\n<p>He explained that the arrival of this raw material is a follow-up to\nthe needs of industry players who previously experienced supply\nlimitations.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMid-May onwards, I\u2019ll update again,\u201d Budi said in Jakarta on\nWednesday.<\/p>\n<p>According to him, the government is continuously monitoring\ndevelopments in raw material supplies to maintain the sustainability of\nplastic manufacturing sector production domestically.<\/p>\n<p>The government previously also sought alternative supply sources from\nother countries to anticipate industry needs.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFrom America (import origin). Then yesterday we looked for solutions\nfrom India and Africa, but the mid-May one is from America,\u201d he\nstated.<\/p>\n<p>Budi emphasised that the import policy is a step to maintain\nstability in the industrial supply chain while ensuring that national\nproduction activities are not disrupted.<\/p>\n<p>He added that the Ministry of Trade will continue to provide updates\non the realisation of imports and developments in plastic raw material\nsupplies in the near future.<\/p>\n<p>The government previously sought various alternative supplier\ncountries for plastic raw materials to maintain supply and price\nstability domestically amid global supply chain pressures.<\/p>\n<p>To date, the primary plastic pellet raw material, nafta, has mostly\nbeen supplied from the Middle East region.
