Trade expo in Darwin<\/p>\n
JAKARTA (JP): West Nusa Tenggara will send a delegation of 20
\nbusinesspeople to Australia next week to take part in Darwin
\nExpo, an executive said Saturday.<\/p>\n
The chairman of the province's branch of the Indonesian
\nChamber of Commerce and Industry, M. Anwar, said in Mataram that
\nthe delegates would show locally-made handicrafts and
\nagricultural products at the expo, which would last from June 2
\nto June 28.<\/p>\n
Anwar was quoted by Antara as saying that besides joining the
\nexpo, the delegates would also take part in a seminar and
\ndialogue with their Australian counterparts to promote investment
\nin West Nusa Tenggara.<\/p>\n
He said 100 foreign investors currently operated in the
\nprovince with investments of Rp 1.65 trillion (US$675.40 million)
\nunder a domestic investment scheme and $1.4 billion under a
\nforeign investment scheme. Forty percent of the investments went
\nto the tourism industry, 20 percent to fishery, particularly in
\npearl development, and the remainder to husbandry and mining.
