An investigation by Republika at the Tanjung Priok port in Jakarta found no visible activity related to the reported unloading of 1,000 Mahindra Scorpio pickup trucks. Security personnel indicated that while vehicle imports are common at the port, specific information about the Scorpio shipment was unavailable without proper authorisation.

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA – Activities in the Tanjung Priok port area,
North Jakarta, appeared normal on Wednesday (25/2/2026). Container
trucks were coming and going in the container terminal area as usual,
but the rows of Mahindra Scorpio pickup trucks that have been the
subject of much discussion were not visible being unloaded.

Republika’s efforts to trace the vehicles to several docks and areas
around the vehicle terminal did not reveal any visible unloading
activity. Several areas within the port were also marked as restricted
areas with limited access.

Republika asked security officers at several entry points to the port
area about the location of the units. However, they claimed not to know
the exact location of the pickup trucks, which were reportedly unloaded
in a shipment of 1,000 units.

“Here, most of the cars are local, not (from India),” said a security
officer at the location on Wednesday (25/2/2026).

The officer then suggested that the search be conducted at the IKT
dock, which he said was often used for unloading imported vehicles.

“Yes, try looking at IKT, there are none here,” he said.

Meanwhile, another security officer at IKT confirmed that most
imported cars are usually unloaded at the dock. However, he emphasised
that media coverage in the area requires special permission from the
management.

“So, if you want to take pictures or videos here, there are rules,”
he said.

“All the cars from abroad come from here, but I don’t know the
details. There are many from abroad, not just from India,” he added.

When asked about the reported arrival of around 1,000 Scorpio pickup
trucks, the officer did not give a definite answer. “The ship that
unloaded today is the Mercury ship owned by BKJ, but I don’t know what
cars it was, there are many, and I don’t know about yesterday,” he
said.

See this post on Instagram
",
