Toys'R'Us opens here<\/p>\n
JAKARTA (JP): The world-renowned children's toy shop Toys'R'Us
\nwill open a branch at the Lippo Supermal Karawaci, Tangerang,
\nwest of here on Wednesday, May 29.<\/p>\n
\"It will no longer be necessary for Jakartans to travel abroad
\nto buy international-standard toys,\" Peter Darmawan, a
\nshareholder in a local company involved in a partnership with the
\ntoy store chain, said.<\/p>\n
The local company, PT Dwibras Darma, whose shareholders
\ninclude tycoon Sudwikatmono, Brasali, James T. Riady and
\nDarmawan, has been appointed by Toys'R'Us as its sole partner in
\nIndonesia, the company's public relations executive, Umi P.
\nSetyastuty, said yesterday.<\/p>\n
PT Dwibras Darma provides all the investment, while Toys'R'Us
\nprovides managerial and technical aid, as well as training for
\nemployees, she said.<\/p>\n
Lippo Supermal has reserved a 2,800 square meter space for
\nToys'R'Us, which offers at least 8,000 kinds of toys, Umi said.<\/p>\n
Toys'R'Us will also open a second outlet at Pondok Indah Mall.<\/p>\n
Toys'R'Us presently has 1,200 shops operating in 23 countries.
