Bangli, Bali (ANTARA) - The Ministry of Tourism of the Republic of\nIndonesia has designated Penglipuran Tourism Village in Bangli Regency,\nBali, as an example of tourism village development in Indonesia.<\/p>\n
Hariyanto, Chief Expert for Tourism and Creative Economy at the\nMinistry of Tourism, said during a working visit by House of\nRepresentatives Commission VII to Penglipuran Village on Thursday that\nthe village\u2019s success is judged on its ability to combine economic\ngrowth with the preservation of culture and local wisdom.<\/p>\n
\u201cSo it is about taking it as an example, not copying it wholesale. It\nis about the ideas for tourism village governance, how to drive economic\ngrowth without abandoning local wisdom, culture and the customs of the\ncommunity,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Hariyanto explained that the government continues to promote tourism\nvillage development as a strategy to strengthen the national tourism\nsector, in line with the mandate of Law Number 18 of 2025.<\/p>\n
He noted that Penglipuran Tourism Village has become one of the best\nexamples after winning the Best Tourism Village award from UN Tourism in\n2023.<\/p>\n
That achievement has strengthened Indonesia\u2019s position as one of the\ncountries with the largest number of the world\u2019s best tourism villages\nin Asia.<\/p>\n
