        "content": "<p>JAKARTA \u2014 Tourism Minister Widiyanti Putri Wardhana has identified\nthe Eid al-Fitr holiday period as a crucial momentum for Indonesia\u2019s\nnational tourism sector. The extended break during the Islamic\ncelebration of Idul Fitri is regarded as a period characterised by\nsignificant surges in tourist movement and visitor numbers across\nvarious regions of Indonesia.<\/p>\n<p>Widiyanti noted that the characteristic lengthy duration of the Eid\nholiday consistently serves as a primary driver in increasing domestic\ntourist arrivals. This momentum is considered effective in stimulating\neconomic growth at various tourism destinations.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe extended Eid holiday represents the largest opportunity for\nincreased movement of domestic tourists and heightened visits by\ninternational tourists to Indonesia,\u201d she stated on Sunday, 15 March\n2026.<\/p>\n<p>Consequently, the Ministry of Tourism is conducting inspections to\nensure that tourism facility managers have prepared facilities and\nservices to accommodate increased visitor numbers during the Eid\nholiday. The Ministry is seeking to enhance tourism services during the\n2026 Eid break, including providing the Halo Wonderful platform to\ndeliver information services, complaint handling, aspiration channels,\nand tourism consultation.<\/p>\n<p>Additionally, the Ministry of Tourism is coordinating with other\nstakeholders to organise business meetings and the Proud to Tour in\nIndonesia (BBWI) exhibition, as well as the Shop in Indonesia Only\n(BINA) campaign. The Ministry is also supporting the promotion of\ntourism events in regions and presenting information about Eid holiday\ntour packages on the indonesia.travel portal.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have also issued a circular to tourism industry associations and\nonline travel agents requesting ticket price reductions,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>The Ministry of Tourism is committed to delivering tourism activities\nthat are safe, comfortable, and enjoyable during the 2026 Eid holiday.\nThe Tourism Minister has issued a circular regarding the organisation of\nsafe, comfortable, and enjoyable tourism activities during the Islamic\nholiday of Idul Fitri 1447 H\/2026 M to encourage relevant stakeholders\nto optimise services for tourists.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe circular contains appeals to local governments, destination\nmanagers, and all parties to prepare destinations for the Eid holiday\nperiod,\u201d Widiyanti said.<\/p>",
