Tourism Minister Widiyanti Putri Wardhana cancelled a planned\ndialogue with the regional government and tourism stakeholders in Labuan\nBajo, West Manggarai, East Nusa Tenggara, on Monday morning. Widiyanti\nhad arrived in Labuan Bajo on Sunday.<\/p>\n
The dialogue was scheduled to take place at Puncak Waringin Labuan\nBajo starting at 09:30 WITA. During the dialogue, Widiyanti had planned\nto present six strategic tourism issues in Labuan Bajo.<\/p>\n
Technical preparations at the venue had been carried out. A number of\nstaff from the Tourism Office, Satpol PP, and the West Manggarai\nProtocol and Communication Office were seen on the ground floor of the\nvenue.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, several staff from the Labuan Bajo Flores Tourism\nAuthority (BPOLBF) were seen in the second-floor room where the dialogue\nwas planned to be held. They were later seen folding back woven sarongs\nand collecting tables after it was confirmed that the dialogue would not\ntake place.<\/p>\n
Head of the West Manggarai Tourism, Creative Economy and Culture\nOffice, Peter A. Rasyid, confirmed that the dialogue with Widiyanti was\ncancelled. However, he did not yet know the reason for the\ncancellation.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt was cancelled, I don\u2019t know yet (the cause of the cancellation).\nIt seems you can confirm with the BPOLBF team, they issued the\ninvitation,\u201d said Peter.<\/p>\n
According to information gathered, Widiyanti cancelled the dialogue\nbecause she was attending an online meeting (Zoom meeting) with the\nMinister of State Secretariat.<\/p>\n
A BPOLBF staff member met at the venue also confirmed the\ncancellation.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe event was cancelled. The Minister had a meeting with the State\nSecretariat via Zoom,\u201d said the BPOLBF staff member at the venue.<\/p>\n
An MSME actor at Puncak Waringin appeared disappointed with the\ncancellation of Widiyanti\u2019s arrival. The MSME actors there had\npreviously been ready to welcome Widiyanti\u2019s arrival.<\/p>\n
