Tour operators visit RI<\/p>\n
JAKARTA (JP): A total of 38 tour operators from seven
\ncountries are taking part in a family tour program organized by
\nthe Ministry of Tourism, Art and Culture, and the Association of
\nIndonesian Travel Agencies (Asita), to provide information on
\nIndonesia's tourism conditions to those operators.<\/p>\n
Minister of Tourism, Art and Culture Marzuki Usman was quoted
\nby Antara as saying that the goal of the program is to counter
\nnegative reports by the foreign media which have severely
\ntarnished the country's image and prompted many tourists to
\ncancel their trips to Indonesia.<\/p>\n
He said during a welcoming ceremony on Sunday that by visiting
\nIndonesia themselves, the tour operators will see that
\nIndonesia's condition is not as bad as has been reported, and
\nwill then be more inclined to arrange tour packages to Indonesia.<\/p>\n
During their two-weeks visit, the tour operators, which came
\nfrom Germany, the Netherlands, Taiwan, France, India, Japan and
\nSingapore, would visit nine tourist destinations in the country,
\nnamely Jakarta, Bali, Bandung, Yogyakarta, Medan, Parapat,
\nBukittinggi, Padang and Banjarmasin. (gis)<\/p>",
