        "content": "<p>Surabaya (ANTARA) - Traffic volume on the Surabaya-Mojokerto (Sumo)\ntoll road in East Java rose by 25.3 percent during the H-10 to H-2\nperiod ahead of Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijriah, with a total of 433,227\nvehicles entering and exiting Surabaya on 11-19 March 2026.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere was a significant surge in traffic volume on the\nSurabaya-Mojokerto (Sumo) toll road section during this mudik period,\ndominated by the movement of returnees heading to hometowns in various\nparts of East Java and vice versa,\u201d said PT Jasamarga Surabaya Mojokerto\n(JSM) President Director D. Hari Pratama in a statement in Surabaya on\nFriday.<\/p>\n<p>PT Jasamarga Surabaya Mojokerto (JSM) recorded that during this\nperiod, the volume of vehicles entering Surabaya via the Warugunung toll\ngate reached 211,568 units, an increase of 18.9 percent compared to\nnormal conditions of 177,924 vehicles.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, vehicles leaving Surabaya were recorded at 221,659 units,\nor up 32.2 percent from normal traffic of 167,743 vehicles.<\/p>\n<p>Hari assured that optimal services continue to be provided to road\nusers during this peak mudik period for Eid 2026.<\/p>\n<p>According to him, although vehicle volume increased sharply, the V\/C\nratio (vehicle volume compared to road capacity) remained within safe\nlimits, and queues at toll gates were well-managed.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis shows that the Sumo toll road is increasingly relied upon as\nthe main route for smooth mudik connectivity between regions,\u201d he\nstated.<\/p>\n<p>PT Jasamarga Surabaya Mojokerto (JSM) advised toll road users to\nprioritise driving safety by obeying traffic signs, maintaining safe\ndistances, and following instructions from on-site officers.<\/p>\n<p>Users were also reminded to ensure sufficient electronic money\nbalance and fuel before entering the toll road to avoid obstacles at the\ntoll gates.<\/p>\n<p>Current traffic information and assistance services can be accessed\nvia the Jasa Marga Group\u2019s 24-hour One Call Center at 133, as well as\nthe Travoy application.<\/p>",
