About 6:30 a.m. on Sept. 22, 2003, my driver accidentally hit
\na scavenger on the Jagorawi toll road, at about 70 km per hour.<\/p>\n
I am not trying to lay blame in this accident, as this matter
\nhas already been settled. The point I would like to raise is that
\nPT Jasa Marga, which manages toll roads, should see to it that no
\npedestrians ever cross a toll road.<\/p>\n
Unfortunately, there are no traffic signs prohibiting people
\nfrom crossing a toll road or hawking or exercising on the
\nshoulder. Is PT Jasa Marga incapable of doing this, or is it
\nactually reluctant to do this?<\/p>\n
In this context, it is necessary for PT Jasa Marga to inform
\ntoll road users about their legal rights if they accidentally hit
\nsomeone jaywalking across the toll road. In the case that such an
\naccident occurs, PT Jasa Marga, as the manager of the toll roads,
\nmust let the public know the extent of its responsibility to the
\ntoll road user and the victim.<\/p>\n
