We experienced a devastating accident on Sunday, March 30,
\n1997, when we had just entered onto the Jakarta-Cikampek toll
\nroad through the East Bekasi toll gate on our way to Jakarta.<\/p>\n
We were traveling in a Toyota Kijang van (B 8898 DM) in the
\nleft lane when a brown Feroza look-alike, traveling at high
\nspeeds on our right side, hit us in the rear.<\/p>\n
Because of the crushing impact, our car, already in bad shape,
\nflipped over and rolled off the toll road. Meanwhile, the road
\nmonster calmly left us in the swamp. But God spared our lives,
\neven though we were badly injured and our 14-month-old baby was
\nthrown out of the car.<\/p>\n
We are addressing this message to the toll road driver in
\nquestion. We still do not understand why he was driving his car
\nat breakneck speeds on the toll road. You are actually a coward
\nsince you have not shown any sense of responsibility.<\/p>\n
We do not really want to know who the driver was. We are not
\nexpecting compensation.<\/p>\n
We would like to thank the employees of PT Jasa Marga who
\nordered an ambulance to take us to the hospital. We would also
\nlike to thank those people who helped us get out of the wrecked
\nvehicle, who loaned us their cellular phone, gave us something to
\ndrink, provided us with tissues and took care of our belongings
\nscattered on the road.<\/p>\n
We would like to remind toll road drivers that it is not
\nenough to drive carefully on these roads. There are toll road
\nmonsters who believe that they can drive at dangerous speeds
\nwithout regard for other toll road users.<\/p>\n
