Toll road fare to increase?<\/p>\n

I am very concerned with the government's plan to increase the
\ntoll fares. I don't really know what is behind the plan. Toll
\nroad users argue that "business" is the only reason why they are
\nraising toll road fares.<\/p>\n
I am sure that the Minister of Public Works knows the
\nsituation on the toll roads. More often than not, one takes the
\ntoll road only to find that the traffic is congested -- no
\ndifferent from ordinary roads.<\/p>\n
The government's plan to build another lane on the Cawang-
\nGrogol toll road is indeed laudable. But later we are informed
\nthat the funds needed for constructing this additional lane is
\ngoing to be collected by raising the fares. Again society has to
\nbear the burden of the project.<\/p>\n
Therefore I sincerely call on the government to postpone the
\nplan to increase the fares of the toll roads until two or three
\nyears later, as demanded by the House of Representatives.<\/p>\n
Also I hope that PT Jasa Marga is honest in giving information
\nabout the situation of the toll roads at a particular time so
\nthat the road users can take an alternative way and avoid the
\ncongested toll roads.<\/p>\n
