Bambang (55), a resident of Bogor, performed his Friday prayers at\nIstiqlal Mosque. He stated that he had no issue with the two worship\nservices occurring simultaneously.<\/p>\n
\u201cFrom what I\u2019ve seen on my way here, it\u2019s all calm and peaceful.\nWe\u2019re just carrying out our respective worship,\u201d said Bambang when met\nat Istiqlal on Friday (3\/4\/2026).<\/p>\n
Bambang\u2019s family also includes members of different faiths. Tolerance\nhas been instilled in his family.<\/p>\n
\u201cBecause my family also has Christians, we just respect each other,\u201d\nhe added.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, Nata, a congregant at the Cathedral Church, said the\nworship atmosphere was solemn and conducive. He performed the Good\nFriday service calmly.<\/p>\n
\u201cActually, the atmosphere here is very peaceful,\u201d said Nata.<\/p>\n
He expressed delight with the Good Friday worship that day. According\nto him, Muslims and Catholics can carry out their respective\nworship.<\/p>\n

Thousands of Congregants Attend Good Friday Service<\/p>\n
Thousands of congregants filled the Cathedral Church in Jakarta to\nparticipate in the Good Friday observances. The atmosphere felt solemn\nfor those present.<\/p>\n
The Good Friday mass began at 12:00 WIB. Hymns were chanted.<\/p>\n
The first mass was led by Father Yusup Edi Muljono SJ. Congregants\nfilled nearly the entire church area, including the tent provided\noutside the Cathedral Church in Jakarta.<\/p>\n
Even though they were outside, the congregants followed the mass\nsolemnly via screens and loudspeakers. They continued the worship\nsequence calmly.<\/p>\n

The \u2018Creative Stations of the Cross\u2019 performance started at 08:50 WIB\nbefore the worship service. The performance began with singing, followed\nby a drama enactment.<\/p>\n
From the morning, congregants had already gathered outside the\nCathedral Church awaiting the performance. The atmosphere was solemn,\nwith congregants watching the performance attentively.<\/p>\n
