        "content": "<p>JAKARTA \u2014 A panel of judges has delivered guilty verdicts to nine\ndefendants in the first batch of a major corruption case involving the\nmanagement of crude oil and refinery products at PT Pertamina\nPersero.<\/p>\n<p>The defendants received varying sentences commensurate with their\nroles, responsibilities, and the extent of state losses they caused.<\/p>\n<p>Muhamad Kerry Adrianto Riza, the beneficial owner of PT Orbit\nTerminal Merak (PT OTM) and PT Jenggala Maritim Nusantara (PT JMN),\nreceived the heaviest sentence in this case.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe court hereby sentences the defendant Muhamad Kerry Adrianto Riza\nto 15 years imprisonment and a fine of Rp 1 billion, alternatively 190\ndays imprisonment,\u201d stated Chief Judge Fajar Kusuma Aji when reading the\nverdict at the Jakarta Anti-Corruption Court on Friday (27 February\n2026).<\/p>\n<p>Two of his employees also received significant sentences: Dimas\nWerhaspati, Commissioner at PT Navigator Khatulistiwa and Commissioner\nof PT Jenggala Maritim; and Gading Ramadhan Joedo, Commissioner of PT\nJenggala Maritim and Chief Executive Officer of PT Orbit Terminal Merak,\nwere each sentenced to 13 years imprisonment and a Rp 1 billion fine,\nalternatively 190 days imprisonment.<\/p>\n<p>Gading served as Kerry\u2019s representative in the procurement project\nfor the fuel depot terminal (BBM) in Merak owned by PT OTM. He conducted\nnumerous meetings with PT Pertamina officials, including Alfian\nNasution, then Vice President of Supply and Distribution at PT Pertamina\n(Persero), to discuss cooperation agreements for leasing the fuel depot\nterminal.<\/p>\n<p>Dimas primarily managed the project for leasing three vessels owned\nby Kerry. To facilitate the incorporation of Kerry\u2019s ships into\nPertamina projects, Dimas frequently met with PT Pertamina executives,\nincluding Yoki Firnandi, Chief Executive Officer of PT Pertamina\nInternational Shipping (PT PIS).<\/p>\n<p>The leasing of the fuel depot terminal owned by PT OTM caused state\nfinancial losses totalling Rp 2.9 trillion.<\/p>\n<p>The leasing project for the three vessels belonging to PT JMN\u2019s\nassets is believed to have caused state losses of USD 9.86 million and\nRp 1.07 billion.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe court hereby sentences the defendant Riva Siahaan to 9 years\nimprisonment and a fine of Rp 1 billion, alternatively 190 days\nimprisonment,\u201d stated Chief Judge Fajar Kusuma Aji when reading the\nverdict.<\/p>\n<p>The judge found that Riva committed criminal offences in a refinery\nproduct import project together with Maya Kusmaya, Director of Marketing\nand Commerce at PT Pertamina Patra Niaga, and Edward Corne, Vice\nPresident of Trading Operations at PT Pertamina Patra Niaga.<\/p>",
