        "content": "<p>The Bekasi City Metropolitan Police\u2019s Criminal Investigation Unit is\nprobing a tragic murder case involving a toddler at a rented house in\nJatirangga, Jatisampurna, Bekasi. The victim was found dead with\nmultiple stab wounds on Wednesday (27 May).<\/p>\n<p>Senior Police Commissioner Andi Muhammad Iqbal confirmed authorities\nare conducting a thorough investigation. Initial examinations revealed\nover 10 stab and slash wounds across the child\u2019s body.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe toddler had numerous wounds on the head, face, torso, and groin,\nincluding a severe slash on the cheek. We estimate more than 10 stab\nwounds,\u201d Iqbal stated on Friday (29 May).<\/p>\n<p>Police identified the suspect as the victim\u2019s uncle, identified as G\n(18). However, G remains unable to be questioned as he is in critical\ncondition in hospital following stab wounds to the chest and face.<\/p>\n<p>Initial investigations revealed G has a history of mental health\ncondition (ODGJ) and regularly consults a psychiatrist. The tragedy is\nbelieved to have been triggered by the suspect\u2019s failure to take\nsedative medication for two days prior to the incident.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe family stated the suspect stopped taking medication due to\nfinancial constraints, as they could not afford the prescribed drugs,\u201d\nadded Iqbal.<\/p>\n<p>The incident first came to light after a social media post from <span class=\"citation\" data-cites=\"infobekasi\">@infobekasi<\/span> showing the\ncrime scene in RW 10, Jatirangga. At the time of the attack, the victim\nwas with her grandmother, M (60), at the rented house, though the\ngrandmother was reportedly away selling goods when the stabbing\noccurred.<\/p>\n<p>Residents who arrived at the scene found the victim deceased, while\nthe suspect G was discovered with severe neck injuries. Police are\ncurrently awaiting the suspect\u2019s medical stability before proceeding\nwith legal proceedings.<\/p>\n<p>The case has drawn public attention to the oversight of mental health\npatients in communities, particularly among impoverished families\nstruggling to access regular medication.
