        "content": "<p>JAKARTA - Two defendants in the alleged corruption case involving the\nprocurement of Chromebook-based laptops will face a hearing for the\nreading of the verdict or demands on Thursday (30\/4\/2026). These two\ndefendants are the Director of Primary Schools at the Ministry of\nEducation, Culture, Research, and Technology for 2020\u20132021, as well as\nthe Budget User Representative (KPA) Sri Wahyuningsih, and the Director\nof Secondary Schools at the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research,\nand Technology for 2020\u20132021, as well as KPA Mulyatsyah. \u201cNext, the\npanel of judges will deliberate, and then read the decision as per our\nplan to be read on Thursday, 30 April 2026,\u201d said the Chief Judge\nPurwanto S Abdullah during the hearing at the Jakarta Corruption Court,\non Monday (27\/4\/2026). Former technology consultant at the Ministry of\nEducation, Culture, Research, and Technology, Ibrahim Arief, still has\nto undergo rebuttal and duplication, while the hearing for former\nMinister of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology Nadiem Makarim\nis still presenting witnesses and mitigating experts. The public\nprosecutor (JPU) has read the demands for three defendants in the\nChromebook corruption case, namely former technology consultant Ibrahim\nArief, Mulyatsyah, and Sri Wahyuningsih. Ibrahim Arief is demanded with\na 15-year prison sentence with a fine of Rp 1 billion subsidiary 190\ndays and paying restitution of Rp 16.9 billion subsidiary 7.5 years in\nprison. In the indictment, Ibrahim is not stated to have enriched\nhimself, but jointly committed unlawful acts. In addition, Ibrahim also\ninfluenced ministry officials to choose Chromebook as the product to be\nprocured. Meanwhile, the other two defendants, Sri and Mulyatsyah, are\neach demanded 6 years in prison with a fine of Rp 500 million subsidiary\n120 days in prison. They are alleged to have pressured several\ncommitment-making officials (PPK) to choose Chromebook as the product to\nbe procured. Mulyatsyah is said to have received SGD 120,000 and USD\n150,000, but he has returned Rp 500 million and some of the money he\nreceived has been distributed to several parties. Both Sri and\nMulyatsyah were involved in creating several technical aspects to smooth\nthe procurement of Chromebook-based laptops. The defendants are believed\nto have caused state losses of Rp 2.1 trillion, divided into two\nprocurements, namely the Chromebook procurement worth Rp 1.5 trillion\nand the Chrome Device Management procurement worth Rp 621.3 billion.
