        "content": "<p>JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - Commission III of the Indonesian House of\nRepresentatives will hold a Public Hearing (RDPU) regarding the case of\nvideographer Amsal Sitepu on Monday (30\/3\/2026) today, at 09.00 WIB.<\/p>\n<p>The videographer from North Sumatra is the defendant in a case of\nalleged corruption in the production of village profile videos in Karo\nRegency.<\/p>\n<p>Chairman of Commission III of the House of Representatives,\nHabiburokhman, stated that the RDPU is being held to respond to public\ndemands that view the handling of the case as fraught with\ninjustice.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe RDPU is being held to address the numerous public demands that\nconsider the case to be coloured by injustice,\u201d said Habiburokhman in a\nwritten statement on Sunday (29\/3\/2026).<\/p>\n<p>However, Habiburokhman continued, videography work is creative work\nthat does not have fixed price standards.<\/p>\n<p>Therefore, assessments of the service costs are often subjective.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cVideography work is creative work that does not have certain\nstandards for pricing,\u201d emphasised Habiburokhman.<\/p>\n<p>Commission III reminds law enforcement authorities to prioritise\nsubstantive justice in handling the case.<\/p>\n<p>This aligns with the spirit of the new Criminal Code (KUHP) and\nCriminal Procedure Code (KUHAP).<\/p>\n<p>In this case, Amsal is facing a demand of two years\u2019 imprisonment, a\nfine of Rp50 million, and an obligation to repay state losses of Rp202\nmillion.<\/p>\n<p>He is charged under Article 3 in conjunction with Article 18 of Law\nNo.\u00a031 of 1999 as amended by Law No.\u00a020 of 2001 on the Eradication of\nCriminal Acts of Corruption.<\/p>\n<p>Quoting the Case Tracking Information System (SIPP) page of the Medan\nDistrict Court, Amsal is known to serve as Director of CV Promiseland,\nwhich submitted proposals for village profile video production to\nseveral village heads.<\/p>",
