        "content": "<p>The Border Security Task Force (Pamtas) of the 511th Infantry\nBattalion (DY) has launched a programme to transport students to school\nin Tolikara Regency, Highland Papua, to address transportation\nlimitations in the area.<\/p>\n<p>Deputy Commander of Karubaga Post, Corporal Dimas Rangga, stated the\ninitiative aims to help children in Karubaga Village, Karubaga District,\nattend classes more easily and safely.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are providing transport to ferry children to school amid limited\ntransportation facilities in the region,\u201d Dimas said in a statement\nreceived in Wamena on Sunday (24 May 2026).<\/p>\n<p>He added that the military\u2019s presence in mountainous and border areas\nis not only for security but also to support community activities,\nincluding education.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur presence ensures smooth teaching and learning while boosting the\nmotivation of Papua\u2019s inland children,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Previously, students had to walk around three kilometres through\nmountainous terrain to reach school, leaving many exhausted and\nfrequently late for classes.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cChildren often arrive late due to the long distance between home and\nschool. Hence, we assist in transporting them to ensure they arrive\npromptly and do not miss lessons,\u201d he explained.<\/p>\n<p>Dimas emphasised education\u2019s critical role in shaping the mindset,\ncharacter, and outlook of Papua\u2019s youth.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe aim to support national education efforts, particularly for\nschool-age children in border regions where we are deployed,\u201d he\nsaid.<\/p>\n<p>He hopes the programme will ease education access for border-area\nchildren, enabling them to grow into intelligent successors who can\nserve as role models in their communities.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, student parent Misya Kogoya (39) expressed gratitude for\nthe Border Security Task Force\u2019s assistance in using official vehicles\nto transport children to school.<\/p>",
