During the meeting, TNI internally agreed on the
number of personnel for the force.

“Internally, it has been determined that the troops to be sent will
be prepared in a composite brigade format totaling 8,000 personnel,”
said Donny in a written statement on Sunday, 15 February 2026.

Additionally, the meeting drew up a schedule or timeline for
personnel to prepare themselves. The stages include medical and
administrative examinations in February 2026, followed by 1,000
personnel targeted to be in a state of readiness for departure by April
2026, and all personnel ready for departure by June 2026.

Donny clarified that the phrase “ready for departure” does not mean
the troops will have departed for Gaza. “Rather, it means they are truly
in a state of readiness to be deployed at any time,” he said.

Previously, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that Indonesia’s
participation in the ISF is limited only to humanitarian missions, such
as civilian protection, health assistance, reconstruction, as well as
training and capacity building for the Palestinian police.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs guaranteed that TNI troops sent to
Gaza will not be involved in any combat operations.

“Indonesian personnel will not be involved in combat operations or
any actions leading to direct confrontation with any armed party,” read
the official statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, uploaded on
its official website on Saturday, 14 February 2026.

Nevertheless, according to the key national caveats, or special
provisions regarding Indonesia’s ISF participation, the use of force is
permitted for self-defense and mandate protection. Such use of force is
a last resort and must be carried out in graduated steps.
",
