        "content": "<p>The Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) has officially submitted a\nletter of request to the Witness and Victim Protection Agency (LPSK) to\nexamine KontraS activist Andrie Yunus (AY). This examination is intended\nto supplement the investigation process into the acid attack case that\nafflicted Andrie.<\/p>\n<p>Head of the TNI Information Centre, Aulia Dwi Nasrullah, explained\nthat previous efforts to take statements from the victim had been\ndelayed due to health constraints.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOn 19 March 2026, investigators from the TNI Military Police Centre\nattempted to confirm the request for a statement from witness-victim AY,\nbut the doctor did not permit it due to health reasons,\u201d Aulia stated in\na written release on Wednesday (1\/4).<\/p>\n<p>As time progressed, Andrie is now under LPSK protection. Therefore,\nthe TNI Military Police Centre must coordinate with the agency to\ncontinue the examination procedure.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSubsequently, on 25 March 2026, the TNI Military Police Centre\nreceived a letter from the LPSK Chairman stating that witness-victim AY\nis under LPSK protection,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>Aulia emphasised that the TNI Military Police Centre Commander has\nsent an official letter to the LPSK Chairman to request permission for\ntaking the statement. This step is taken as a form of TNI\u2019s transparency\nin overseeing the case to its conclusion.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe TNI Military Police Centre Commander has sent a letter to the\nLPSK Chairman regarding the request to obtain a statement from\nwitness-victim AY. TNI is committed to carrying out law enforcement\nprocesses openly, professionally, and accountably,\u201d Aulia stressed.<\/p>\n<p>Regarding case developments, TNI has so far designated four soldiers\nas suspects. All four are now confined in a military detention facility\nwith tight security.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe four perpetrators have been designated as suspects and are\nundergoing detention in the maximum-security military detention facility\nof the Jakarta Regional Military Command (Pomdam Jaya Guntur),\u201d Aulia\nexplained.<\/p>\n<p>The suspects have been detained since 18 March 2026 and are charged\nunder assault provisions.
