The TNI\u2019s Habema Operations Command is pursuing members of the Free\nPapua Movement (OPM) suspected of killing three civilians near the Trans\nPapua road in Seradala District, Yahukimo Regency, Papua Pegunungan, on\nMonday (20\/7).<\/p>\n
In an official press release from Habema Public Relations received in\nJakarta on Wednesday, it was explained that the victims consisted of a\nmarried couple and a woman from the Unaukam tribe.<\/p>\n
\u201cFollowing up on the incident, the TNI Habema Operations Command\ncontinues to coordinate with relevant authorities to conduct\ninvestigations, pursuits, and law enforcement against the perpetrators\nin accordance with applicable regulations,\u201d said Head of Public\nRelations for the Operations Command, Lieutenant Colonel (Inf.) Wirya\nArthadiguna, in the press release.<\/p>\n
Wirya stated that the assault was allegedly carried out by an OPM\ngroup led by Kopitua Heluka (Danops Kodap Yahukimo). Information\nregarding the brutal act, Wirya continued, had also been published by\nthe OPM through the Central Headquarters Management of the West Papua\nNational Liberation Army (TPNPB).<\/p>\n
\u201cIn that information, they claimed responsibility for the shooting\nthat resulted in the deaths of three civilians,\u201d Wirya revealed.<\/p>\n
As of now, his party has not been able to provide more detailed\ninformation regarding the chronology of the assault. The Habema\nOperations Command, Wirya continued, is still focused on gathering\ninformation about the perpetrators\u2019 whereabouts.
