TNI plans major reshuffle soon<\/p>\n
JAKARTA: The Indonesian Military (TNI) announced on Friday
\nthat it plans a major reshuffle after two senior generals were
\npromoted to strategic posts in the Ministry of Defense.<\/p>\n
TNI spokesman Maj. Gen. Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin said the reshuffle
\nwas intended to at least replace himself and Maj. Gen. Dadi
\nSusanto, who have been posted respectively as the secretary-
\ngeneral, and the director general of defense strategy at the
\nministry.<\/p>\n
Dadi had earlier served as intelligence assistant to TNI chief
\nof general affairs Lt. Gen. Wartoyo.<\/p>\n
\"The reshuffle will be completed this month,\" Sjafrie said.<\/p>\n
TNI deputy spokesman Brig. Gen. Tono Suratman, who was
\nacquitted of human rights abuse charges arising out of the East
\nTimor debacle, has been tipped to replace Sjafrie.<\/p>\n
Sjafrie, however, refused to answer when asked whether the
\nreshuffle would also affect former Army chief of staff Gen.
\nRyamizard Ryacudu, who is currently serving in a non-staff
\nposting.<\/p>\n
\"All I know is that he (Ryamizard) has yet to reach retirement
\nage. He still has one year left to serve in the military,\" he
\nsaid, implying a chance that the four-star general might get the
