        "content": "<p>JAKARTA \u2014 The Commander of the Indonesian National Armed Forces\n(TNI), General Agus Subiyanto, has issued a telegram ordering all TNI\nunits to implement a Level 1 alert as a precaution against developments\nin the global situation, particularly the conflict in the Middle\nEast.<\/p>\n<p>The order appears in Telegram of the Commander of the TNI\nNo.\u00a0TR\/283\/2026, signed by the Assistant Operations of the Commander of\nthe TNI, Lieutenant General Bobby Rinal Makmun, on 1 March 2026.<\/p>\n<p>The Head of the TNI Information Centre (Kapuspen), Brigadier General\nAulia Dwi Nasrullah, confirmed the existence of the telegram when\ncontacted by Kompas.com on Saturday night, 7 March 2026.<\/p>\n<p>The Level 1 alert order took effect on 1 March 2026 and will remain\nin force until a time yet to be determined.<\/p>\n<p>What are the seven commands from the Commander of the TNI during\nLevel 1 alert?<\/p>\n<p>In the circulating document, the Commander issued seven main\ninstructions to units within the TNI.<\/p>\n<p>First, the Commander of Main Operational Commands (Pangkotamaops) is\nasked to bring personnel and the main weapon systems (alutsista) into a\nstate of readiness. They are also ordered to patrol strategic vital\nobjects and centres of economic activity.<\/p>\n<p>Second, the National Air Defence Command (Kohanudnas) is ordered to\nconduct early detection and continuous air surveillance 24 hours a\nday.<\/p>\n<p>Third, the Strategic Intelligence Agency (Bais) is instructed to\ndirect military attach\u00e9s of Indonesia in conflict-affected countries to\ncollect data and map the conditions of Indonesian citizens (WNI). In\naddition, they are asked to prepare evacuation plans if necessary.<\/p>\n<p>The measures are to be taken in coordination with the Ministry of\nForeign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia and Indonesia\u2019s diplomatic\nrepresentatives in the relevant countries.<\/p>",
