Jakarta \u2014 The TNI headquarters has emphasised that its investigation\ninto the acid attack against Andrie Yunus, Deputy Coordinator of the\nCommission for Missing Persons and Victims of Violence (KontraS), is an\nindependent initiative by the institution.<\/p>\n
This is due to circulating rumours in society regarding the\ninvolvement of TNI members in the case.<\/p>\n
\u201cThat is correct (purely because there is public opinion),\u201d said TNI\nHead of Information Centre Major General Aulia Dwi Nasrullah when met at\nthe TNI Media Centre, Kramat, Senen, Central Jakarta, on Tuesday\n(17\/3\/2026).<\/p>\n
\u201cWhere we see there is public opinion circulating, allegedly the\nperpetrator is from the TNI,\u201d he explained.<\/p>\n
Aulia said his institution had not yet coordinated with the Criminal\nInvestigation Directorate of the Metro Jaya Police Regional Office,\nwhich is the police investigator.<\/p>\n
He asked the public to be patient as the investigation process is\nongoing.<\/p>\n
However, Aulia emphasised that the investigation will proceed\nprofessionally and transparently.<\/p>\n
It was previously reported that KontraS Deputy Coordinator Andrie\nYunus became a victim of an acid attack by an unknown assailant on\nThursday (12\/3\/2026) evening in the Senen area, Central Jakarta.<\/p>\n
As a result of the attack, Andrie suffered burns to several parts of\nhis body, including his eyes, face, chest and hands.<\/p>\n
Based on the initial diagnosis from the medical team at Cipto\nMangunkusumo Hospital, the victim suffered burns covering approximately\n24 per cent of his body.<\/p>\n
